Dayton Gear Doubles Down on Hera Hobbing with Hera 200, Followed by Hera 500

30 minutes down to 2 minutes. Then they came back for more.
Dayton Gear specializes in producing custom gears quickly, serving customers who need fast turnaround on spur gears, helical gears, and other hobbed profiles, including gearbox repair work where downtime is costly.
When cycle times on their older equipment were holding them back, they partnered with Helios Gear Products and started with the Hera 200 CNC gear hobber. The results were dramatic enough that they came back shortly after for a Hera 500.
Scaling your productivity with exceptional quality.
A 15x cycle time reduction, then a second machine to push further.
The Hera 200 cut cycle times from 30 minutes to just 2 minutes on certain parts, a reduction that immediately changed what Dayton Gear could deliver and at what volume. Seeing that level of productivity gain firsthand made the decision to add the Hera 500 straightforward.
With the larger machine in place, Dayton Gear expanded their capacity to handle bigger parts, streamlined production across the shop floor, and created a more efficient workflow that lets them deliver for customers faster and with greater consistency.

Every year, closer to the dream.
With both machines running, Dayton Gear has solidified their position as a reliable resource for custom gears and gearbox repair, and continues to make progress toward owner Bryan Baird's goal of running the shop like a well-oiled machine.
Helios Gear Products has provided ongoing support since installation, keeping both machines running and the team equipped to take on new work. As Bryan put it, every single year they are making the right strides toward that dream.
